Smart, McDonald’s Philippines turn 250 unused party rooms into classrooms

Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) partnered with McDonald’s Philippines to provide fast connectivity in 250 McDonald’s Classrooms nationwide.

With this initiative, 250 unused party rooms can now accommodate teachers and students who have virtual classes.

To ensure that McDonald’s Classrooms can deliver fast and reliable internet, Smart turned over Smart Bro Prepaid Pocket WiFi Advance kits for use at all the participating classrooms. Powered by Smart, teachers and students may enjoy twice the speed of regular LTE Pocket WiFi devices because of its Carrier Aggregation feature.

The feature combines multiple signals from different cell sites, allowing faster and more reliable connections. It can also connect up to 10 WiFi-enabled devices for easier sharing and worry-free surfing.

Meanwhile, McDonald’s Classrooms will be available until December 3 for fully-vaccinated teachers and students aged 18 years and above.

For safety, only two teachers or students are allowed to use the free service at two available timeslots:

• 8 AM to 12NN, from Monday to Friday
• 1 PM to 5 PM, from Monday to Friday
