Smart and MOONTON Unveil Revamped Tournament Format and Battle Trips for MPL Philippines Season 14

Smart Communications and MOONTON Games have teamed up for the 14th season of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines. The season, themed “Heroes Within,” will run from August 16 to October 6, featuring eight competing teams and a prize pool of USD 150,000.

MPL PH Season 14 introduces a new tournament format that promises to elevate the competition’s intensity. With the main highlight as the Open Global Transfer System, allowing mid-season transfers between MPL and MDL teams within the MLBB Esports ecosystem. This change also enables MPL teams to recruit agent imports from other MPL regions, including free agents.

Teams will now compete in two best-of-three (BO3) matches against the seven other teams, with rankings based on points. Additionally, the lower bracket final will now be a best-of-seven series to determine the strongest challenger for the Grand Finals.

As the official telco partner of MPL PH, Smart is launching the “MPL PH Smart Battle Trips,” offering community heroes and student leaders the opportunity to watch MPL matches live. Additionally, fans can look forward to the “Smart Heroes Within” content series, which will showcase exceptional performances and season statistics of MPL players, providing an insider’s view of the most impressive plays of the season.
