MediaTek’s 5G answer for the midrange phones
MediaTek has announced a brand new product for CES 2020 and it’s the MediaTek Dimensity 800 which is one of the company’s newest chipsets that comes with 5G connectivity but this time, they’re bringing it to the midrange smartphones.
The MediaTek Dimensity 800 is built on the 7nm process with 5G and it supports 2CC carrier aggregation which means that it offers more coverage and of course, it also supports both SA and NSA sub-6GHz networks with multi-mode support from 2G to 5G.
The chipset comes with four Cortex A-76 cores at 2GHz and four more power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores at 2GHz. The graphics on this one is the Mali-G77 MC9 which is the same as the one on Dimensity 1000 and it comes with HyperEngine for better performance when playing games.
The MediaTek Dimensity 800 also supports up to 64MP sensors or 32MP+16MP dual cameras. There’s no word regarding smartphones that will launch with Dimensity 800 CPU.
