LG’s latest flagship phone has finally been launched in the Philippines and yes, I got a chance to play with this smartphone for a bit and I was very impressed with it. LG has showed us how and what a flagship smartphone should be like. Another device that made an appearance during the launch was the Android Wear powered LG G Watch. So what do I think about these devices? Check them out after the break.
LG G Watch
I was shocked that there’s an LG G Watch on display at the LG G3 launch. The LG G Watch was recently available in the US last Google I/O and the LG G watch is only available at Google play. The LG G Watch is one of the first Android wear devices along with the Samsung Gear Live and Moto 360.
The first I notice with the G Watch is its build. The construction of the G Watch is purely made up of plastic and the band wasn’t really attractive. The didn’t like the build of the LG G Watch but the OS inside it, Android Wear, has a lot of potential.
I was impressed by Android Wear and even at noisy environments, the LG G Watch was able to recognize my voice via Google Now. The implementation and the UI was also easy to use but at first time users, some people might find it hard to understand. Personally, I would still choose the Sony Smartwatch 2 over Android wear because Android wear is still too young and there are only a few apps available on that platform.
LG G3
This is the most beautiful smartphone that I’ve seen. With their new flagship, the LG G3 refined the flaws of the LG G2. The LG G3 still sports a power and volume button at the back and the design was very premium and beautiful. The LG G3 is still made up of plastic but the feel was very different, it is very premium and despite having a 5.5″ display, the ergonomics of the LG G3 was pretty good thanks to its thin bezels and curvy back.
The display of the LG G3 is a monstrous 5.5″ Quad HD display. If you don’t have any idea what a Quad HD is like, the Quad HD resolution is 2560×1440. Yes, that’s even bigger than your normal HDTV at home. I was actually impressed by it but I barely see the difference between a Full HD (1920×1080)
The camera of the LG G3 was one of its most interesting feature. It’s the first phone to sport a laser auto-focus system and I was very amazed by it. Even at lowlight condition, the LG G3 was able to focus on an object and it was even faster than the Samsung Galaxy S5.

The price seems decent enough. I was checking the Note 4 earlier and they seemed evenly matched. There’s still no word on the release of that though.
