Gran Turismo Sport is one of the most exciting racing simulators that will be coming to the PS4 soon. It’s the latest game in the series and I was one of the lucky people who were able to try out this game in Tokyo Game Show 2017 in VR. But of course, you could still play the game on the PS4 without the VR.
We played the game in VR along with the racing wheel that doesn’t come with a stick shift but it’s fine as I played the game in automatic. I’ve played the game in my Red Nissan GT-R at Tokyo Expressway and I battled a single AI.
As expected, the Gran Turismo Sport is clean, and a really nice driving simulator but it was not as complex as Project Cars. But it’s actually good as most people wouldn’t have to suffer the complexity and confusing features of the game.
In the graphics department, the Gran Turismo Sport doesn’t fail to amaze us. The details of the cars are just good along with the environment however in VR, I notice that the elements are rougher and the details inside the car are dull and it isn’t as good as I expected.
The fun part about the Gran Turismo Sports VR is that you’re immersed in another world whenever you wear their PS VR headset. The frames were smooth and the lap time and the current gear are placed on the dashboard. Since you’re in the driver’s view, you’ll have to look at the side mirror and also to the rearview mirror in order to see the sides and the back respectively.
Gran Turismo Sport VR is probably one of the best games that you can play on PSVR. If you love racing then you might want to check this thing out. Because despite its flaws, Gran Turismo Sport VR is still a good title for the PSVR platform. It’s probably one of their best title for their VR platform.
