Cherry Mobile Orbit is one of the cheapest Android phone in the market. It offers the mid-level Android phone features that you need like the 5 megapixel camera, WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G. The phone also features a Dual sim dual standby feature so you don’t need to make some switches to use the other sim.
So here are my first impressions of the phone. Let’s do it my way, in bulleted form hehe
- The phone is purely made out of plastic
- I like the Dual Sim Dual Standby feature
- The 5 megapixel camera image and recording performance was not that great
- You can’t play Angry Birds, Paper toss, Fruit Slice that well or any graphic intensive games because there is no dedicated Graphics Processor on this device
- The 4 Android buttons are capacitive and just below the screen but I rarely press those accidentally
- The speakers performs fairly
- I get less than a day for its battery life but that’s normal for Android Smartphones
- You can download a lot of apps and games but as I told you earlier you can’t play most of the games because it lacks a dedicated GPU. Some games that you can play are solitaire and other games that doesn’t require graphics processing power
- There are some apps made by Cherry Mobile like Cherry Messenger, Cherry Music and Cherry Shop
- I didn’t experience any crashes on Android 2.2 Froyo
- I use it as a mobile router most of the time and checking my Facebook, twitter and Google+ accounts
- The Browser works well but it lags sometimes and it doesn’t support flash
If you are an Android user who loves hardcore games and apps that need a lot of processing power then this phone is not for you, the 528 MHz processor lacks some power when it comes to hardcore processing. I like the Android OS and dual sim feature of this phone but some of the downsides of these phones are the cheaply made body and sloppy camera. If you use your phone mostly for SNS like facebook, twitter and google+ then you might consider this phone because of the availability of SNS apps. If you’re looking for Hardcore games and long battery life, Well, I suggest that you look for other phones
