Asus Transformer Book T100: The Affordable Windows 8.1 tablet-laptop hybrid

Asus revealed a new revolutionary product this week, the Asus Transformer Book T100. This 10.1″ hybrid runs on Windows 8.1 Pro and it brags a very affordable price tag. It is also running on the latest Intel Atom ‘Bay trail’ quad-core processor which is capable of running Torchlight II and Portal. I believe the Intel Atom ‘Bay Trail’ Quad-Core processor is already enough for your basic tasks and some light-gaming needs. Students like me would also love this because it comes pre-installed with Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013. Yep, it’s a full one and not the trial version. The interesting part in here is that the Asus Transformer Book T100 has an affordable price even with the dock on it. (It’s even cheaper than the iPad!!)

Asus Transformer Book T100 Specifications
Tablet-Laptop hybrid
10.1″ 1366 x 768 IPS Display
Intel Atom Bay Trail Z3740 Quad-Core processor
2 GB of RAM
32 GB/64 GB
USB 3.0 slot (Dock)
1.07kg and 10.5mm thin
Windows 8.1
11 hours of battery life

I asked Asus and they told us that the Asus Tranformer Book T100’s dock doesn’t have a battery. But who cares! The tablet has 11 hours of battery life! That’s freakin long already. Since this tablet runs on Windows 8.1, you can run your legacy games apps compared to Windows RT. I’m just not sure which games would work on this tablet.

Asus Transformer Book T100 Price

The Asus Transformer Book T100 starts at $349 (PHP16,000) for the 32 GB and $399 (PHP18,000) for the 64 GB. And yes, it comes with the dock. Holy crap right?! That’s too freakin affordable! To give you a little perspective, the iPad starts at $499 while the Nexus 7 starts at $229. This would be a great device for those people who are looking for a tablet and a laptop with full Windows experience. It’s great for students! The Asus Transformer Book T100 is expected to be launch here in the Philippines on October 2013.

Damn. I still can’t believe the price of the Asus Transformer Book T100.
