The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G is one of the members of the Redmi Note 10 family and it’s the unique one among the family as this one features 5G thanks to the MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G processor inside which is also the same processor that we’ve found on other affordable 5G smartphones like the realme 8 5G. So are you interested in this one? Check out what we think about the smartphone in our review.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G Review: Design and construction
Without a doubt, the smartphone comes with a design that is familiar and very similar to the Redmi Note 10 series smartphones. At the back is where can see the camera module and the design that is like the Redmi Note 10 but this one comes with a different feel at the back but it still has that matte look.
As for the power button, there’s the power button on the right side of the smartphone which also serves as the fingerprint scanner of the smartphone. The design and the materials of the smartphone also made it more slippery for my hands but it’s very usable for one hand so I highly suggest that you use the included case on the smartphone.
Below the smartphone is where you can find the USB-C port of the smartphone that supports 18W charging for the 5000mAh battery but unfortunately, it takes time before we can fully charge the smartphone. There’s a 3.5mm headphone jack on the smartphone too which is located at the top of the smartphone which is troubling when playing games and charging on the smartphone as the USB-C ports and the 3.5mm headphone jack.
There’s an IR blaster on the smartphone too that you can use for the Mi Remote on the smartphone. Basically, you can control appliances and other products with the IR blaster on the smartphone. Might not be useful for some people but it’s a nice touch that we have that here.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G Review: Display
As for the display, we got here a large display on the smartphone with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ Dot Display. There’s a punch-hole selfie camera on the smartphone and then there’s the 90hz refresh rate on the smartphone.
When it comes to the colors, it’s not the best one that we’ve seen even at its price range. The colors aren’t great but thankfully, we got here a full HD+ resolution on the smartphone. It’s usable outside but I wish it was better. As for the refresh rate, it’s nice and smooth with the 90hz refresh rate but unfortunately, it’s not adaptive.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G Review: Battery life
The smartphone comes with a 5000mAh battery and it comes with an 18W charging which isn’t fast enough but the battery life? I’m pretty happy with the results that we’re getting on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G. In PC Mark Work 3.0 Battery test, we got a score of 15 hours and 57 minutes.
This translates that the smartphone can last a whole day of usage or even more despite using 5G on the smartphone. Overall, I was pretty happy with the battery life of the smartphone.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G Review: Software and performance
As expected, the software and UI of the smartphone are running on MIUI and nothing much has changed from it. It’s fast, responsive, but it’s heavily customized as expected.
The colors and the icons were fine and most of the apps that come preinstalled on the smartphone are useful and one of the unique apps that we have here is the Mi Remote in where we can use the smartphone as a remote for your appliances.
As for the performance, the smartphone comes with a Dimensity 700 5G chipset inside which isn’t that bad. I was actually pretty happy with the results that I got in our benchmarks on the smartphone. Check out the scores that I got on the smartphone.
Unfortunately, Antutu can’t benchmark the GPU of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G which is why we didn’t include the Antutu in here.
When it comes to gaming, games like Mobile Legends won’t be a problem on the smartphone however when playing games like Genshin Impact, you might want to tone down the graphics settings. Some people might not enjoy the game at all due to the low frames but at least the smartphone can run it.
As for the 5G speeds, we were able to get really fast 5G speeds on the smartphone:
Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G Review: Camera
This is where the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G doesn’t really shine. First, there’s the triple-lens rear camera on the smartphone with a 48MP main camera along with 2MP macro camera and also a 2MP depth camera. Actually, I was disappointed that the smartphone didn’t include an ultrawide camera on the smartphone since we barely use the macro camera and the depth camera of the smartphone.
When it comes to the quality of the shots that we took using the smartphone, well, it wasn’t that good nor it wasn’t that bad. Yes, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G can do the job done when it comes to the camera. Check out what we think about the smartphone’s camera:
The quality of the shots that we got on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G were fine for me and it was usable when posting on social media but I found it a little bit overexposed and the quality of the colors wasn’t really accurate. As for the selfies, I found the same thing but the details were just fine.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G Review: Verdict
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G is a smartphone made for those people who are looking for a 5G smartphone on a budget. It might not be a perfect smartphone but it got 5G inside and also long battery life. It might not have the same camera quality as its Redmi Note 10 brothers but it does have a big advantage when it comes to 5G.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G starts at Php9,990.
