Alongside the OnePlus 11 5G that we loved in our review, the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 is also an amazing product that is best paired with the smartphone. The OnePluds Pro 2 features an amazing sound quality, noise cancelling and of course, a comfortable fit. Now, let’s review this latest earbuds from OnePlus
Pretty good sound quality
For the sound quality of the OnePlus Buds Pro 2, it comes with a pretty balanced sound with a noticeable power for its bass. Whether I’m playing Speak Now by Taylor Swift or just some light and easy songs War of my Life by John Mayer, the lows and the highs are clear and crisp on this one but again, the bass are really bloated on this one.
The separation of the tones were really great as well and the details of most of the sounds that we’ve been playing on the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 were great.
Unique features
The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 comes with a lot of unique features especially when you pair the device with your smartphone using the HeyMelody app which can be downloaded on the Play Store.
Now, you can now have a customized EQ on the earbuds and they already have recommended settings such as balanced, bold, serenade, and bass which are co-created with Dynaaudio and they were great.
There’s the Golden Sound customization which will give you the best and optimized sound for your ears by just listening to some beeps and adjusting it for your ear canals. Lastly, there’s the Zen Mode Air which will let you listen to White Noise, a feature that I love on the Airpods and Apple devices.
There’s spatial audio as well which is present on some Android devices but unfortunately, there are only a few apps and games that supports it but at least it’s nice to see that feature in here/
Noise Cancelling
The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 features a customizable active noise cancellation on the app. You can turn it down or even turn it to max depending on the noise cancellation that you need. And of course, there’s the transparency mode as well to hear the surroundings even better.
The noise cancellation of the isn’t the best one out there in the market but it’s definitely on the average side. So if you’re outside and you’re using the earbuds, there will still be some noise that you can hear including loud jeepney sounds and even loud environmental noises.
Design
The design of the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 is one of the simplest and generic cases that we’ve seen but it does give off a premium vibe. Why? Because despite using a plastic material into it, there’s the matte finish with the clean OnePlus logo and the Dynaudio logo at the top. Inside it is the no-nonsense design with the LED light on the front and the pairing button which is accessible.
At the back of it is where you can find the USB-C port of the case and of course, this one comes with wireless charging.
As for the earbuds, this one comes short stem with a mix of matte and glossy finish. They’re comfortable and lightweight as well which basically means that the earbuds can be use for a longer time without irritating your ears. Oh and it’s IP55 certified as well which you can use anytime.
As for the battery life, I’ve been using it for hours and it can last up to 7 hours of usage which basically translates to almost a whole work day and with the charging case, it can give you with an almost 5 days of normal usage
Verdict
The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 is one of my favorite earbuds that I’ve tried. It comes with a customizable EQ, a lot of unique features, long battery life, amazing design, and a comfortable fit. As for the sound quality, it’s great as well but not the best and the noise-cancelling of this one is just average.
The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 is now available for Php9,990.
