Having a good keyboard is very crucial to every gamer out there but of course, not everyone could afford a decent gaming keyboard because you know, it’s expensive. But thankfully, ASUS Philippines have released their affordable gaming keyboard, the ASUS Cerberus Gaming keyboard.
First things first
In case you already have the ASUS Cerberus Gaming Keyboard, be sure to update the keyboard to its latest software update that can be found on ASUS’ website.
The ASUS Cerberus Gaming keyboard might be affordable but it is still packed with a lot of features including a dedicated buttons for media controls such as stop, play/pause/previous, next, volume up and volume down.
The keyboard might pack decicated buttons for media controls but this keyboard doesn’t have dedicated buttons for macro keys but don’t worry because you can use the function keys as your macro keys for this keyboard.
Design-wise, the ASUS Cerberus Gaming keyboard means real gaming business because this keyboard has really this gaming feel. The design of the keyboard is edgy and it features a sharp design that adds a gaming feel that might probably boost your confidence when playing games (But that rarely happens LOL).
Below the keyboard is a full rubberized feet which is really essential if you really have strong movements or if you’re always pouring your rage on the keyboard. That one is really essential for me since I really get annoyed when the keyboard moves from its position due to its low friction (Yeah, I’m talking to you my generic gaming keyboard!) But hey, the rubberized feet of the Cerberus Gaming keyboard is pretty damn good.
The keyboard also features a braided USB cable that feels really tough and solid and thankfully, the USB plug wasn’t really that big and it doesn’t block other ports whenever I use it on my laptop or even my PC. Another thing to love about the ASUS Cerberus Gaming keyboard is the splash-proof design thanks to the drain holes underneath the keyboard
One of the main features of the ASUS Cerberus Gaming keyboard is the LED backlit keyboard. Not only that this keyboard features a backlit keyboard but you can also change the color from red to blue with its 4-level light setting. If you want, you can also set the keyboard to display a fading light but I wouldn’t really recommend that one especially if you always spend your time looking at the keyboard.
This isn’t a mechanical keyboard but the keys of the ASUS Cerberus Gaming Keyboard is soft and comfortable to use however I felt that there was a need on a more tactile feel on this one but overall, it’s still good especially for its price. The addition of the Macro keys is also a plus for some gamers. Since this keyboard is for the gamers, the W, A, S, and D keys have arrow keys.
Unfortunately, there’s no dedicated software that for the ASUS Cerberus Gaming keyboard that lets you map the keys and control its lighting.
Verdict
Without a doubt, the ASUS Cerberus Gaming Keyboard is one of the best bang for the buck gaming keyboards out there. It might not have mechanical keys and separate macro keys but it still has most of the basic features that you would look for a gaming keyboard which are macro keys, LED backlighting and multimedia keys.
