According to a recent data from market research firm GfK, local branded smartphones typically sell smartphones that cost less than P3,000. Normally, these are smartphones are the ones with 4-inch and below displays, low-end cameras, and it’s either powered by a single-core or a dual-core processor. Actually, these are the smartphones that brings a big market share for a company.
But at Starmobile, more than a third of their sales from mid-many to mid-June 2015 belongs to the Knight Luxe and Up HD which are priced are P7,690 and P4,990 respectively. Starmobile Up HD is a 5-inch smartphone with a Quad-Core processor and HD display while the Starmobile Knight Luxe is a smartphone with an octa-core processor, premium design and an ISOCELL camera which is a first in South Asia.
This data is very interesting because it just shows that the Filipinos are getting better smartphones and the local smartphone industry are slowly getting matured.
