Samsung launches 840 EVO SSD, comes in 120 GB and 250 GB

Solid state drives are the future of storage for your desktops and laptops. Why? Because they are much faster and there are no moving parts compared to the HDDs. And yes folks, the Solid State Drive’s speed and performance was far better than the Hard Disk Drives. You could see a better booting time, more energy-efficient storage, and transferring of files are faster. One of the biggest brand in the electronics business, Samsung, launched the newest EVO SSD 840 last December 18, 2013 in Greenbelt 3. Why don’t you check out these new Samsung EVO SSD 840 after the break.

You know what, you don’t need to be a techie guy or a techie babe to be able to replace your Hard disk drive. Ms. Hannah Alipio of Samsung Philippines showed us how easy it is to replace your hard disk drives with SSDs. But of course, you have to make it sure that your laptop or mobile device supports the EVO SSD 840. And yes, after you’ve changed it to SSD, it will be faster and more energy efficient. The only downside of the SSDs are they are still too expensive and a lot of people are still unfamiliar with it.

Unfortunately, only the 120 GB and the 250 GB variants are available in the Philippines. They are priced at P5,390 and P9,390 respectively. And yes, you could now grab a Samsung EVO SSD 840 at these stores: Infoworx, Complink, PCX, Acenet, PC Hub, Asianic, Villman, Thinking Tools and other Samsung IT authorized dealers.

I am also happy to announce that they also launched new MicroSDs for your smartphones and other mobile devices. There are two Class 4 MicroSD cards — 4 GB and 8 GB which are pegged at P350 and P370 respectively. If you want a bigger storage, you could opt for a 16 GB, 32 GB or a 64 GB Class 10 MicroSD cards which are priced at P750, P1450 and P3450 respectively.
Actually, I’m planning to replace my notebook’s HDD with a SSD 😉
