Why the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G is my favorite flagship smartphone

The Galaxy Z Flip3 5G is Samsung’s newest flagship smartphone that made a mark in the market as it packs a lot of amazing features. It’s also one of the best and affordable foldable smartphones in the market today. I’ve been using it for more than a month now, and I love every bit of the features that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G has.

It’s the sexiest smartphone out there

A lot of people would agree that the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G is the sexiest smartphone out there. Why? First, the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G comes in unique colors that look perfect on the smartphone, including cream, phantom black, green, and lavender.

Second, the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G also features a pocketable design and it measures at 4.2” when folded. So even if you don’t have a deep pocket with you, you can bring and fit the phone anywhere.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G is powerful

The Galaxy Z Flip3 5G might look like a smartphone that is made for lifestyle-centric consumers but the smartphone now comes with the same processor as the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G which makes it perfect for running any apps and games on the smartphone.

We’ve played demanding games including Northgard and Genshin Impact and the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G not only managed to play these games at high settings but we also got pretty good frame rates, thanks to the Snapdragon 888 5G along with the 8GB RAM of the smartphone.

Having the latest processor on the smartphone also means you also get the latest ISP which will give you better photos and better computational photography performance and also a better 5G modem inside which can give us an ultra-fast 5G on the smartphone.

Display is even better

Both the foldable display and also the cover display of the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G is a big upgrade. First, the cover screen is 4x bigger than the previous generation which will give us more content on the cover display for notifications. And then there’s the 6.7-inch Infinity Flex Display that has been improved.

It doesn’t have an under-display camera but it’s fine with me as it doesn’t sacrifice the quality of the selfie camera of the smartphone. As for the main display, we now have a faster and better 120Hz refresh rate, this means that we can have smoother animations on the smartphone and of course in gaming.

One of the coolest features of the smartphone is Flex Mode in which you can fold the smartphone and lay it down on a flat surface and use it as a tripod. This gives us a lot of possibilities including recording videos without the need for a tripod and for selfies.

As for the cover display, I get less distracted with my work as I don’t need to look at my smartphone every time thanks to the bigger cover display. I can now customize it to see more content on my notifications and I can even use the cover display to control my music and check out the other widgets.

Perfect for selfies

The Galaxy Z Flip3 5G’s biggest advantage over other flagship smartphones is that it is perfect for selfies. Why? There’s the dual 12MP rear camera on the smartphone and then there’s the 10MP selfie camera.

The 10MP selfie camera works fine for selfies while the dual 12MP rear cameras of the smartphone can be used as your selfie camera with the cover display as your viewfinder. You don’t need to unfold the smartphone to take selfies as you can just double tap the power button to open the camera and use the volume rocker as your shutter button.

You can place it on a table and take hands-free selfies and videos without the need for a tripod. This also gives us a stabilized camera when taking night shots or videos.

Tough and water resistant

Another feature that was introduced on the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G is the tougher panel layer and protective film. Samsung promises 80% more durable film and it can withstand up to 200,000 folds and also a tougher Armor Aluminum frame. But that’s just the start because the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G now comes with an IPx8 water resistance rating which makes the smartphone the first water-resistant foldable device along with the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G.

Improved ecosystem

Samsung has also been improving their ecosystem with the addition of their accessories including the Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Series and the Galaxy Buds2. The Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Series now runs on Wear OS on One UI Watch which gives a perfect sync to your apps and for your workouts. You can also now run the Play Store along with Wear OS apps on the smartphone.
