Samsung Galaxy Tab S has been announced today and I gotta admit to you guys, I changed my mind from getting the iPad to getting the Samsung Galaxy Tab S. When the Samsung Galaxy Tab S was announced a month ago, I said to myself, this is just another tablet from Samsung similar to Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro but I was wrong. I didn’t expect the Samsung Galaxy Tab S would be that great.
Like what I’ve said in my previous post about the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, the 8.4″ display feels just the right size for me. Yes, whether you’re on a portrait or on landscape mode, the 8.4″ display feels just right for everything and speaking of display, you can’t believe how good the display was. Both tablets sports a WQXGA (2560×1600) Super AMOLED display. So what’s up with a Super AMOLED Display? well, with this display, expect that the colors are more vivid, a remarkable contrast ratio, more realistic images and videos, and the blacks are darker and the whites are brighter.
I’m not really a fan of Galaxy Tabs but the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4’s display was just amazing, jaw-dropping. Another thing to love in the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is the weight and its dimensions. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 with LTE is thinner and lighter compared to the iPad Air, oh and there’s phone functionality on this tablet too. Interesting huh? Some of the features on the Samsung Galaxy S5 are also present in these devices like the fingerprint sensor, ultra power saving mode and the kids mode.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S (Thinner) Versus Samsung Galaxy S5 (Thicker) |
Compared to the previous 10″ Samsung Galaxy Tab devices, this one has a larger display. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S has a larger display at 10.5″, that’s 0.4″ bigger than its predecessor. So, what can you guys expect from this tablet? Well, just like the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, the tablet’s display won’t disappoint. It has the same WQXGA resolution which is probably bigger than your TV’s resolution and yes, the display was still great just like the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4. The specifications of both tablets are almost similar but if you want more productivity, you should probably get the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5.
Just like the Samsung Galaxy S5, these tablets would have a perforated back design. Some people might not find it attractive but you would probably love the colors and the dimensions of the tablet. I’m also wondering why Samsung decided to use Snapdragon 800 on these devices rather than the Snapdragon 801 which can be found on the Samsung Galaxy S5. If you’re looking for some accessories for your tablet, there’s a book cover and a keyboard that is available for both tablets. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S LTE is now available in Titanium Bronze and Dazzling White. The price? it’s now available for P24,990 and P29,990 for the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and Galaxy Tab S10.5 respectively.
OH and if you’re planning to buy a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and 10.5 this weekend, better go to SM Megamall because for every purchase of Samsung Galaxy Tab S devices, there’s a free Book Cover and a battery pack.
