Xiaomi unveiled the Mi CC9 Pro smartphone together with the Mi TV and Mi TV Pro lineup. The new TV series from Xiaomi will be offered in three different sizes – 55″, 65″, and 75″. Pro variants come with better panels and more memory.
A striking feature of the Mi TV 5 lineup is its 47% thinner bezels compared to the Mi TV 4 series. The Mi TV 5 lineup only has 5.9mm and 9.9mm bezels for the 55″ and 75″, respectively.
Powering Xiaomi’s latest smart TVs is an Amologic T972 chipset built on the 12nm process. The new chipset offers 8K video playback thanks to a built-in image engine technology. Additional specs include 3GB RAM + 32GB Storage for the Mi TV 5, while the Pro variant has a 4GB RAM + 64GB storage combo. Additionally, the Mi TV 5 Pro variants come with a 4K QLED panel with 108% NTSC color space paired with MEMC motion technology and HDR10+ certification as opposed to the regular variant with only 85% NSTC coverage.
Ports wise, the Xiaomi Mi TV 5 has 3 HDMI ports, 2 USB-A ports, Ethernet, S/PDIF, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi 802.11ac. There are two 8-watt stereo speakers built-in with DTS audio and Dolby Audio Support.
Mi TV 5 Pricing and Availability
Mi TV 5 and TV 5 Pro is currently on sale in China. Availability in the Philippines is still unknown but is estimated to be on Q1 2020. Pricing are as follows:
