Both the Realme 3 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy A50 are great smartphones. Actually, I love both of these smartphones as they are in the mid-range segment but both of them performs pretty well for their prices and today, we’ll do a review comparison of these two smartphones.

When it comes to build quality, both of the smartphones pack a good design. The Samsung Galaxy A50 features an all-plastic build with a premium aesthetic looks with its distorted reflections at the back that gives chrome-like colors while the Realme 3 Pro packs a plastic build with an S-pattern at the back that changes its look depending on the light that passes through it.
Despite the curves at the back on both smartphones, the Realme 3 Pro feels handier and easier to hold thanks to its better curves and slightly smaller footprint that the Samsung Galaxy A50. When it comes to the fingerprint scanner, the Realme 3 Pro has an in-display fingerprint scanner while the Samsung Galaxy A50 features an in-display fingerprint scanner while both smartphones pack a face unlock with almost the same unlock speed, the rear fingerprint scanner of the Realme 3 Pro is faster than the Galaxy A50 however, Samsung’s in-display fingerprint scanner is more convenient.

Both the Realme 3 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy A50 have a notched Full HD+ display, however, the Realme 3 Pro has a smaller screen at 6.3-inch IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection while the Samsung Galaxy A50 features a larger 6.4-inch Super AMOLED that offers superior colors however, this one is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
So if you want better colors and a bigger display, go for the Samsung Galaxy A50 but if you’re worried about the protection, you can go for the Realme 3 Pro.

There’s a small difference between the two when it comes to battery life as the Samsung Galaxy A50 has a 4000mAh battery while the Realme 3 Pro packs a slightly larger 4045mAh battery, however, the biggest difference between the two is its fast charging capability. The Samsung Galaxy A50 is capable of 15W fast charging with its USB-C port while the Realme 3 Pro supports a faster VOOC 3.0 20W fast charging in its micro USB port.

The Realme 3 Pro runs on ColorOS 6 that is based on Android 9.0 while the Samsung Galaxy A50 is using OneUI 1.1 based on Android 9 Pie. To be honest, both UI are fast and very responsive and both UI is very user-friendly. When it comes to storage, the Samsung Galaxy A50 comes in 128GB while the Realme 3 Pro comes in 64GB or 128GB variants.
When it comes to performance, this is where we can see the difference between the two. The Samsung Galaxy A50 runs on Exynos 9610 processor and it’s one of the best mid-range processors that the company has made while the Realme 3 Pro is using a Snapdragon 710 processor and both smartphones use a 6GB RAM (a higher variant of the Realme 3 Pro)
In our benchmarks, the Realme 3 Pro clearly shows that is has a better advantage when it comes to performance as it posted higher scores compared to the Samsung Galaxy A50. Check out the scores of the smartphone below:
In our gaming test, we tried PUBG Mobile at balanced settings at ultra-framerates on both smartphones and we saw a slightly higher FPS on the Realme 3 Pro.

This is actually my favorite part of the comparison. The Realme 3 Pro comes with a 16MP rear camera and 5 MP depth-sensing camera and then there’s the 25MP front camera while the Samsung Galaxy A50 features a 25MP main camera + 8MP ultra wide-angle camera and a 5MP depth sensor. Now, the biggest advantage of the Samsung Galaxy A50 is the smartphone packs a wide-angle lens but how about how these two smartphones perform in real life? Check out our shots below:

The Realme 3 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy A50 is going head to head in a very tight race. Again, both smartphones are great and they do have their own strengths. While the Samsung Galaxy A50 has a better display and a wide-angle lens, the Realme 3 Pro performs way better and the Realme 3 Pro shots that we got are better.
But here’s the thing. The Realme 3 Pro starts at Php12,990 for the 4GB/64GB variant while the Samsung Galaxy A50 starts at Php15,990. That difference is actually pretty big. So if you’re looking for a smartphone for gaming, then you might want to check out the Realme 3 Pro but if you really need that wide-angle lens then go ahead, get the Galaxy A50.
