MacOS Catalina announced, breaks up iTunes into three apps

MacOS Catalina is the new version of MacOS and it will have a lot of new features including the ditching of iTunes. Yep, the rumors are true as Apple is now diversifying the iTunes. Yep, the iTunes is now divided into three — Apple Music, Apple Podcast, and Apple TV.

So you might be asking how iPhones will now sync on the Mac. Well, you can now sync your iPhone using the Finder app on your Mac. As expected, Apple Music will feature music and also music streaming while Apple Podcast will feature the latest Podcast shows, and Apple TV

Sidecar is also another feature on the MacOS Catalina in where it will definitely make the Duet app on the iPad worthless as you can now use your iPad as an external monitor for your Macs via wired or wireless.

There’s a feature too called Find My which lets you find your Macs even if it’s offline as it uses the iOS devices around it as a beacon to send data to your device and you can even activate a lock.

Apple has also introduced Project catalyst in where developers can easily create Mac apps based on existing iPad apps. And some of the apps that are running on the Mac now that came from iPad are Twitter and also Asphalt 9.

MacOS Catalina will be available this fall (Sept-Dec)
