HUAWEI leads Q2 2024 global wearable tech market with record growth

HUAWEI has claimed the top position in the global wearable tech market for the second quarter of 2024, according to the latest report from the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Wearable Device Tracker. Despite a slight year-over-year decline in overall wrist-worn device shipments, HUAWEI saw significant growth.

The global market for wrist-worn devices saw a shipment of 43.7 million units in Q2 2024, marking a 0.7% year-over-year decrease. In contrast, HUAWEI experienced notable growth, shipping 8.9 million units and capturing a 20.3% market share. This marks a 42.1% year-over-year increase from 6.3 million units shipped and a 14.2% market share in Q2 2023. Regions such as the Middle East and Africa, Latin America, and Central and Eastern Europe contributed to HUAWEI’s strong performance. The launch of new wearable products throughout 2023 boosted its shipments by 55.1% year-over-year.
